I am in Kentucky for the closing of our house. It went very smoothly, but with one small comical error on the paperwork.
I was signing each and every piece of paper and hoping my hand wouldn't cramp. The lawyer would give me a brief description of what each piece said when she handed me one and proceeded to say: "This document states that Michael is an unmarried male....blah, blah, blah..."
Whoa....WHAT?!?!? Unmarried male?!?!? Who do you think I am??? My Realtor (Heather) and I just looked at each other.
"Aren't you his sister???" Needless to say I started laughing. Heather then turns to me and says..."Well, you are in KY now, you never know"
In the end it was all straighten out and we now own another home. Whoo Hoo !!!

We are getting down to crunch time till Mike moves. We settle on the house Monday, YEAH!!!! and then only about another 10 days till we pack up the truck. The house is still missing some crucial items, namely a fridge and microwave.
We went to on our our local appliance stores to hopefully purchase here and have delivered there (like we did with the washer/dryer). We went into HHGregg and found the perfect fridge at a great price, but the only problem; it was an open box item so no delivery to KY. :(

isn't it "purty" |

Well, we did purchase it and they will store it until we are ready to pick it up. Our plan is to swing by and have it loaded into the truck we are renting to move all the other furniture.

Yep, it's one that show no finger prints |

There was no microwave that we wanted at this store we went to
Best Buy and found one we liked AND this time it will be delivered to KY.
There are many other things that will need to be done but at least we got the major stuff purchased. I am headed to KY this weekend and will hopefully have some posts and many photos. Stay tuned.

I do have a small love affair going on. It's for Mr. Clean (it might be the earring)
Actually it's the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. OMG, it's an amazing little piece of white sponge. I so wish I had taken before and after photos of the
crap stuff that I was able to remove from our entertainment unit. Hopefully next time I will remember to take the photos.
If you have those stubborn marks on walls, shelves, bathrooms and have tried everything to get them off then I highly suggest you try this out. (No, I was not paid to promote this item) I just hope they see this post and send me some free ones !!!!

I am not sure what to call her...but I know I will fix her up and give her a nice comfy spot in our new home.
We have a large wall in our kitchen and I was looking for a piece for the area that would also give us a little extra storage. I was also looking for something that I could take the time and refinish. Salvation army is around the corner and since it seems I am dropping stuff off there several times a week lately I decided to stop in and see what they had.
I was drawn to her right away but I also had my doubts. First she is painted black and the handles that have been attached don't seem to fit the piece. She is also missing her bottom doors, but I don't seem to mind. I have baskets that might work or hubby can make new doors (wait till I tell him that). I do like that she has a holder for wine glasses attached in one of the areas.
I brought hubby over to see and we decided to look around a little more and if she was still there this weekend we would get her.
Needless to say she became ours for a mere $56.00 and sitting in the middle of the living room until Mike moves. I don't know what she is going to look like since it will depend on colors we choose for the kitchen. I figure it will end up either being painted, glazed and distressed a subtle color OR we can make it a statement piece with a bold color. Any and all ideas are always welcome. Stay tuned.

I thought it would be easy to find a new kitchen table. WRONG !!!!
We decided we're leaving our kitchen table to the person who will be renting our house, plus we feel it's too big for our new eating area. Right now we have a long rectangle table and thinking we want a small round table with 4 chairs. We find we gravitate towards a smaller (round) version of what we have now, but I want to find something different. When I do find what I think would work, it costs over a grand, (are you kidding me)
Here are some of what we have found online:
I think we are going to wait till we are in Kentucky to look for what we really want. I do know that I have found my new favorite place to shop,
Garden Ridge .... It's the mecca of home decorating stores. So right now we are going to "table" this topic until another time.

Washer and dryer twins that is. Did I have you fooled for a split sec.? Washer and dryers in KY usually don't convey so I figured I got to choose the ones I wanted. I was excited to find out that I could order them here and have them delivered at the new house. I did some looking around plus we had a tax free weekend on "Energy Star" appliances which helped me make my choice. We have a large laundry closet and even though I would be able to stack them I will be placing them side to side and install counter top over them
Now onto looking for a refrigerator and and over the range microwave. We have not decided yet if we want to go stainless steel even though the oven and dishwasher are white. But then I'm not sure how long they will last before we have to replace those.

We have started going room by room and drawer by drawer. We are PURGING !!!!! I can't believe how much stuff we have accumulated over the years. I opened the cabinet that had all our music CD's and was not about to box them all up...they take up too much room and most of the stuff is on my IPOD anyway. However, I didn't really want to get rid of them so I came upon a great idea from another blog. So out with all the jewel cases and now they take up residence in a nice little zip case....
