I thought it would be easy to find a new kitchen table. WRONG !!!!
We decided we're leaving our kitchen table to the person who will be renting our house, plus we feel it's too big for our new eating area. Right now we have a long rectangle table and thinking we want a small round table with 4 chairs. We find we gravitate towards a smaller (round) version of what we have now, but I want to find something different. When I do find what I think would work, it costs over a grand, (are you kidding me)
Here are some of what we have found online:
Washer and dryer twins that is. Did I have you fooled for a split sec.? Washer and dryers in KY usually don't convey so I figured I got to choose the ones I wanted. I was excited to find out that I could order them here and have them delivered at the new house. I did some looking around plus we had a tax free weekend on "Energy Star" appliances which helped me make my choice. We have a large laundry closet and even though I would be able to stack them I will be placing them side to side and install counter top over them
We have started going room by room and drawer by drawer. We are PURGING !!!!! I can't believe how much stuff we have accumulated over the years. I opened the cabinet that had all our music CD's and was not about to box them all up...they take up too much room and most of the stuff is on my IPOD anyway. However, I didn't really want to get rid of them so I came upon a great idea from another blog. So out with all the jewel cases and now they take up residence in a nice little zip case....
Several years ago my hubby Mike and I decided; when it came time to retire we would move from Maryland to Kentucky, even though both of us were born and raised in Maryland.
Why Kentucky you ask?
My mom is from Louisville and I spent many summers there with my Great Aunt. Also, Mike went to college at Eastern Kentucky and I went to college just over the border at Ohio University, so why not go to a place you enjoy.
Four years ago we did purchase 5 acres of land to hopefully build upon in the next few year.
Well, hubby's job transfer came sooner then we expected, so our time line has been pushed up. Mike will be leaving the first part of April and I will follow about 6 month later after we get our youngest settled into college and I get our home of 16 years all packed up. Our oldest has decided that he will follow us and transfer to the Target store in Lexington and get an apartment. We are so excited for him.
After doing some research we found it was MUCH cheaper to purchase a house then it would be to rent an apartment. So after a whirlwind day of house hunting we found our temporary domain. So, anyone interested in helping pack up our rooms of crap treasured items, please feel free to come over.
